For barbers with no shop

Your chair, wherever you happen to be.

You do not need premises and you do not need a booth. Switch your chair on when you start work and you appear on the map as a mobile barber, where customers near you can see you and book you. Switch it off and you are gone from it.

What it replaces

  • No booth rent. A chair in somebody's shop is $200 to $500 a week before you have cut a single head. Here it is nothing a week.
  • Not a percentage. Mobile apps typically take 15–25% of what you earn. We take $1.75 when a booking is completed — on a $35 cut that is five per cent, and on a $60 cut it is three.
  • The money is yours the moment it is paid. Connect your own Stripe and the customer pays you directly. We never hold your takings.
  • Your own page and your own clients. Not a listing inside somebody else's brand — your address, your prices, your name on it.

Where you are, and where you are not

This puts a pin on a public map, so it is worth being exact about what is published:

  • Rounded, never exact. Your pin lands somewhere inside about half a kilometre. We never store your precise position — it is rounded before it is written down, so there is nothing precise to leak.
  • Only while you are working. Turning it off does not hide your position, it deletes it. Stop reporting for fifteen minutes and it is erased on its own.
  • You choose how far you travel. Set your radius; customers outside it do not see you.

Their published prices as of August 2026. Three barbers on Booksy is roughly $90 a month, every month — about $1,080 a year before a single haircut. Here, three barbers with forty completed bookings a month between them is $70, and a month with no bookings is nothing at all.

What it costs

  • The $25 becomes your credit. It is not a fee we keep — it is the balance the booking fee comes out of.
  • Nothing renews. No subscription, no monthly fee, no card kept on file. If you never top up, nothing is ever charged again.
  • Every customer's first preview is on us. Always — whatever your balance is, so the try-on on your page never simply stops working. After that it is your shout: offer as many more as you like at 20¢ each, out of your credit. Two extra is the default, so a customer gets three tries a day and it costs you forty cents — and you can set it to zero, or to nineteen, from your panel whenever you want.
  • We only get paid when you do. The $1.75 comes off when a booking is completed — not when it is made. Empty chair, no charge.
  • Your money is yours. Connect your own Stripe and card payments go straight to your bank. We never hold it.
  • Let a chair, and keep the books straight. Mark any chair as rented, set the rate by day, week or month, and the rent is charged automatically. You see what each barber took and what they owe, side by side, never netted off.

    How much does Barber Studio cost?

    Twenty-five dollars to start, which becomes credit on your account, and $1.75 when a booking is completed. There is no monthly fee, no per-barber fee and no card kept on file. If a month is quiet, it costs you nothing.

    Do I need a barbershop to use this?

    No. A mobile barber signs up the same way and works without premises. Switch your chair on when you start and you appear on the map where customers near you can book you; switch it off and you are gone from it.

    How do customers pay me?

    Connect your own Stripe account and the customer's card pays you directly. The money never passes through us and we never hold it. We take one per cent on shop items sold through your page, and nothing on the haircut itself beyond the $1.75.

    Who pays for the previews?

    Every customer's first preview of the day is ours — it costs you nothing and it works even if your balance is empty. Anything beyond that is your choice: you set how many extra to offer, at 20¢ each out of your credit. The default is two extra, so a customer gets three tries and it costs you forty cents. Set it to zero and previews never cost you a penny.

    What is the try-on?

    A customer uploads one photograph and sees a haircut or beard style on their own face rather than on a model. Hair previews preserve identity while changing scalp hair; beard previews change facial hair only. Customers can pick only services the selected barber actually performs, and the chosen preview reaches the booking.

    How precise is a mobile barber's location on the map?

    Rounded to about half a kilometre, and rounded before it is stored, so we never hold a precise position at all. It only shows while the barber has their chair switched on, and turning it off deletes it rather than hiding it.

    Can I rent a chair out to another barber?

    Yes. Mark any chair as rented and set the rate by day, week or month. The rent is charged automatically and you can see what each barber took and what they owe. Their takings stay theirs — the two numbers are never netted against each other.
